Christmas shopping?

Its that time of year again. With christmas looming most of my weekends (and money!) are spent buying christmas presents. But this weekend i did treat myself to a few little bits from H & M :)

I got these earrings for £3.99

Most of my earrings are big, like they wouldnt look out of place sitting in Pat Butchers jewellery box! Thats just how i like them.

I also got this lipbalm for £1.50 (i think??)

Its strawberry scented, smells yum, but to be honest its not the greatest lipbalm. I merely bought it for the novelty factor :) They have loads of Hello Kitty bits and bobs in, make up bags and cosmetics.

Im sorry to subject you to another post on the sleek graphite pallet but i havent bought any (well not alot, ha) of make up lately. Iv been on abit of a spending ban but when i seen this pallet i really really wanted it. So today i walked past superdrug and i thought if theyv got any in i'll buy it... call it fate! Well good for me they had a few in so here it is

I love it! Especially the two purple colours!

Alot of my lipsticks are nudes. I just feel abit "safer" wearing a nude lip. But iv longed for a gorgeous bubblegum pink lippie. The longing is no more, here is Boots Natural Collection moisture shine lipstick in pink mallow

I saw this on Arlene's blog about a week ago and i knew i had to have it. Its the perfect colour and just what i was looking for.

It is really moisturising and certainly has some staying power. And at £1.95 a total bargain!

Lining my eyes with eyeshadow

I use a Ruby and Millie slanted eye brush slighty wet and Mac's carbon. I find it so much easier than using a pencil and you can use any colour eyeshadow.

The fringe is growing!

As iv said before i go through a cycle with my hair. I want a fringe, i get one cut, i want it out, i grow it out, i want a fringe etc...

A few months ago i had a fringe cut and after seeing some pictures on tumblr of girls with gorgeous hair and no fringe's i was swaying towards the "i want to grow it out" phase! So last night i had a play and its actually long enough to twist it up out of the way :)

"Rosacea" update!

So as i mentioned in my last post about my skin i had an appointment with the dermatologist which was last Tuesday. There's not really much to report from the appointment. He did tell me though that he doesnt think i have rosacea (which is what the doctors have been saying for so long) so basically iv been taking antibiotics for a long time for no reason. For as long as i can remember iv had small red spots on the tops of my arms and legs and he thinks its a form of that on my face! He has wrote down what its called, some long fandangelled name, but to cut a long story short there's nothing that can be done :( I have noticed that lately iv been making sure i exfoliate my arms everyday and the spots are much better so iv decided to change my skincare routine for my face and see if really looking after my skin can help.

So today i went to a clinque counter and got the 3 step skin care system

I got the smaller version so i can try it out and see how i get on. You get all three for £20. Im really hoping this works for me! I also picked up some simple face wipes to remove my make up before i wash my face with the face wash.

The other day i decided the time had to come to depot! I find it so much easier just opening up a pallet to find a colour rather than route around my drawers.

So i ordered some magnets which came today and with a little help from Peachykeencheeks video i managed to depot and update my pallet :)

A little mention about my magnets. I got them from ebay, from a seller called *makeup_nation* They cost me $4.00 for 15 magnets including postage, which worked out at £2.51 (to be exact, ha). The shipping was so quick to say they came from America. Ordered them on the 23rd in the Afternoon and they arrived today!

O.P.I "Suzi skis in the pyrenees"

In the bottle it looks a very very dark grey but on the nails its got a blue tinge to it aswell. I love black nails but this is a nice change :)

And on another note look what i bought on Friday!

I know i know, im like a year too late but i finally gave into the hype and read the book and i loved it! So this was a must buy and i cant wait to watch it.

Updating my Mac pallet

As everyone is very aware there was a Maybelline event a few weeks ago. I was gutted i couldnt get the time off work to go as the few bits of Maybelline makeup i have i love! The colossal mascara and mineral blush in topaz rose are a couple of them. But the lovely Natalie arranged for a few Maybelline goodies to be sent to me, thankyou :)

I got the new vibrating mascara, and 2 lipsticks!

First the mascara. I was really excited that id been sent this, as soon as i saw the advert on tele for it i couldnt wait to try it. The vibrating of it doesnt bother me but you have to keep the button pressed in which was abit of a pain for how i hold my mascara. It definitely added some length to my lashes but i still love my colossal that little bit more.

Firstly brown attitude. When i first saw this i instantly thought how much is wasnt me. But i thought id try it to put some pictures on here and the more i wore it the more it grew on me!

Whenever i buy something from Boots i always end up with some sort of voucher or money off receipt. A week ago i got one of the £5 off No.7 or Ruby and Millie products vouchers! So yesterday i took a little trip to Boots. I ended up buying one of the Rubie and Millie lipglosses in "twilight" after some reccomendations from LondonMUgirl on twitter (thankyou!)

Its a lovely bubblegum pink colour and the lipgloss has some good staying power!

Here's a few pictures of me sporting it last night. (Last night was just a take away and wine night round at the bf's brothers)

It hasnt come out as pinky as it looks on my camera, its my new camera so not sure if iv done something wrong uploading the photo's?!?

The lipglosses are £11.50 each but at the minute Boots has a 3 for 2 on selected products and these are in it!

Over the past few months i have really put my toes through it! Bright nail varnishes kept on for far longer than im sure is advised, the nail varnish being taken off only to be replaced straight away with another shocking colour.

Well i think its safe to say the poor excuse of a summer we had is over so last Friday i took my nail varnish off my toes with the intensions of leaving them be for a while. Eurgh!! They was in a sorry state :( Deep ridges, white patches and quite flaky (bleurgh, im making myself feeling queasy so i'll stop now!)

But Sally Hansen was on hand to help :)

A while back i won some nail prizes off a give away the lovely dressjunkie had. In my prizes was this baby

Supermarket shopping!

Tonight i took a trip to Asda (i have a very exciting life i know!!). I needed some more shampoo and bits and bobs and the nearest Asda to me has all the clothes at the front of the store so you have to walk past (they do this on purpose!!!). Whilst wandering past i spotted this long top

I thought "ooh thats quite nice" and decided to try it on. I loved it! Its a long vest with a slight tulip shape and the long arm holes (if you know what i mean??) with a black vest attached underneath. My photo's are always quite rubbish so here's a few close ups to try and show it you better

It was £14 so not an amazing bargain but i like it :)

Long time no blog!

Here's my face of last night. We just had a girlie night out which has resulted in me spending the whole morning on the sofa and going for a nap after my dinner so a very good night :)

Here's what i used

Gosh touch up concealer in no. 2 under the eyes, everyday minerals foundation in fairly light neutral, everyday minerals blusher in bouquet, mac smoke and diamonds all over the lid and smoked out in the outer corner with carbon, a black eyeliner by rimmel, gosh eyeliner in purple stain lined under the eyes (it hasnt come out well on the photo's but its a gorgeous colour and looked really quite nice if i do say so myself!), maybelline colossal mascara, gosh darling lipstick with some body shop lip butter over the top, and bare minerals mineral veil.

Nudey nails!

Ages ago i bought one of the £1 nail polishes from Nails inc. (The offer that was in Fabulous magazine). It took ages to be delivered! I ordered it towards the end of July and it turned up last week!

I ordered Basil street which is a lovely nude shade. It looks abit darker on the website though and is described as a soft toffee colour.

Iv finally found the time this morning to try it out so here's what it looks like

Its really hard to show the actual colour of this in a photo. I really like the colour of this though and it went on really easy. Abit thick maybe but i did like how it applied.

Firstly just an apology for the poor photo's. The lighting in my room is really bad so the photo's have come out really dark!

So on Sunday it was my birthday! And i was well and truly spoilt.

The bf got me loads of lovely bits. Here's a few of the clothes he got me

I got loads of other bits and bobs but i dont want to bore you with loads of photo's!

My sister got me some lovely bits from Accessorize (i dont know why blogger has decided to turn my pictures upside down?!)

One of my friends got me some Lush goodies which i cant wait to try out. They all smell gorgeous!

In the box is Think Pink bath bomb, Butterball ballistic, Creamy Candy bubble bath and Pop in the Bath.

Oh and because i have a Body Shop love your body card you get a free £5 gift in your birthday month. I chose a new lip butter because i do love a lip balm and their lip butters are great. The lip butters are normally £5 but they was reduced to £4.75 so i was told i had to buy something else to get the price upto £5! Abit annoying but anyway i just bought a nail file with a free sample of their new handcream.

And if youv made it this far, well done, and look what finally got delivered today...

My £1 nail polish from the fabulous magazine offer! Iv been waiting for this for weeks!! I got Basil Street and when i get time to paint my nails in it i will do a notd. It looks like a lovely nude colour though.

Rosacea update

When i first started this blog i did a post about my acne rosacea. Since that post i started back on a course of antibiotics which has nearly ended. I was given 64 tablets to be taken once a day. I went yesterday to see the doctor as a follow up and to see where to go from here. To be honest she was really unhelpful, basically saying she didnt understand rosacea and asking me what i wanted to do! Although she did say it looks like the marks left on my face are scarring and has refered me to a dermatologist. I was quite upset that she confirmed what i already thought about the marks on my face but im hopeful that the dermatologist can help! My appointment for that is on the 6th October but i can keep checking for cancellations and hopefully get in sooner. In the meantime im on another course of antibiotics!

Throughout my course of antibiotics i have taken some photo's. I was unsure wether to post them on here as some of them look quite bad but i couldnt really blog about it without showing exactly what im talking about.

So a little warning for the following photos!!! I have no make up on in any of these photos and they do look a little gross!

The last two aren't as clear but it gives you an idea. My skin is still slightly 'flushed' and there is visible dots which appear to be scars but i will keep you posted when iv been to see the dermatologist.

A few products im loving this July

Here's a few products iv been loving this month :)

Firstly i went on holiday the first week of this month, got a really nice tan, and came back to this! The British summer!! So it soon fades when your home. Iv been exfoliating everyday and been applying this

Dove Summer Glow body lotion. It says on the back to apply everyday and after 5 days you will notice a nice tan. I havent applied this everyday, iv used it every other day or every 3 and i really like the results. It hasnt looked like my tan has faded and looks really natural. It does have abit of a fake tan smell but it also smells abit fruity so i dont mind the smell.

Another product that relates to me and my holiday is the BarryM bronzer

(Excuse the Bet Lynch get up reflected in the mirror! Its my dressing gown... i promise!!)

I liked this bronzer as soon as i bought it but it was great for on holiday and now im back im a little scared about faking it on my face so a little extra of this is great for the post holiday glow!

Iv always had an obsession with shampoo's, i have tried so many different brands and types. A while ago i was using John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner and i loved it. But as usual whilst out shopping id pick up different ones and move onto them. At the end of last month i went back to John Frieda and im loving it!

It makes my hair feel so soft and silky and has a lovely smell, sort of cocunutty (made my own little word up there!) Its just over £4.50 a bottle (i think??) but Tesco and Superdrug have it on offer alot, hence the numerous bottles of conditioner i have!

I love this lip balm from The Body Shop. I use it on its own for a nice nude lip or for abit of moisture for some lippies that can be quite dry. It tastes yum aswell so you do have to be careful you dont lick it all off!

And lastly this moisturiser from Neals Yard

Its the frankincense nourishing cream. Its a great moisturiser anyway but at the moment im suffering with my second cold this month! (Im not happy!!) So to stop the rudolph nose making an appearance iv been applying this round my nose a few times each day and its really helping to prevent the red sore skin that appears after constant nose blowing. A real help at the minute.

Mac haul and a surprise from everyday minerals!

On thursday i was having a bit of a grueller at work so thought id have a little browse of the Mac website. Bad idea!! I managed to talk myself into treating myself to a few bits then of course if you spend £50 you get free delivery which is always tempting. Here's what i got.

Mac really kept me waiting for this order! Every other time iv ordered and paid the standard delivery charge it came next day, this time i got free postage and i had to wait for it! They must of know how much i wanted it!!

But on Friday i did get a nice surprise. At the beginning of June i placed an order on the everyday minerals website. It got despatched on the 9th of June and i know delivery from America can take a while but after a month of waiting i contacted them but all they knew was it had been despatched. A few weeks after edm said they were classing it as lost :( But on Friday, 6 weeks and 3 days, after it being despatched it turned up! Id actually forgotten what id ordered so it was a nice little surprise.

Id ordered one of the free sample make up kits. You get your choice of 3 different foundations, a colour corrector and a blush. The sample pots look small but you actually get loads in them, they definitely last a while. I also ordered a sample eyeshadow which was $2.50. Then you just pay for postage.

The blush i got is called bouquet and the eyeshadow was called causual friday. Swatches below

Yesterday i had to nip to Superdrug to get some hair conditioner. Whilst in there i noticed there was an offer on BarryM nail polishes! 2 for £4.99. So i treated myself

I got chocolate brown and bright purple. I couldnt wait to see what the chocolate brown looked like so im sporting this on my nails today

I really like it :)

Today i met up with a friend for lunch and after we had a wander into Topshop. They still had some sale stuff left and i cannot walk past the sale jewellery without buying something. So this is was i got

A ring which was reduced to £2 and a set of 3 chunky bracelets reduced from £15 to £4.

Weekend antics and random hauling

This weekends has been busy busy with lots of random buys which i thought id share. Firstly i was so excited on Saturday morning when the postman knocked on the door and brought me my new straightners (courtesy of dressjunkies blog sale).

Iv used GHD's for years but saw a few videos on youtube about these straightners. They get just as hot as GHD's but aren't as harsh on your hair. Im loving these already and they really do add some shine to your hair! (Bye bye GHD's!!)

On Saturday me and the bf went to the pictures in the day to watch the hangover (so so funny!). Luckily for me we have a showcase cinema inside a Westfield centre so of course i made a few purchases. When i went on holiday i was hoping to pick up Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume but it wasnt any cheaper than here, some shops it was much more, so i just waited till i got home.

I bought it from Boots (and got my advantage points :) ). It was £49 for 100ml.

Next i went to Ark and bought this long vest

It was £20. It fits really well and is perfect for wearing with jeans or leggings.

I also bought a floral vest from Topshop. Im loving these at the minute, Topshop has quite a few with different designs on

It was £22. (Picture stolen from Topshops website as i wore the top today and its now in the wash!)

Saturday night was a spare of the moment night out with the girls. I got home at 4 o clock this morning so i cannot wait to get in bed tonight! When i eventually got up this morning and got ready me and the bf had the bright idea of nipping to Ikea!! Not the best idea on a Sunday anyway, never mind being slightly hungover and really really tired.

I went to Ikea to buy a replacement lamp. I think it was £4 / £5.

I bought the same lamp a few weeks ago but this is what it now looks like...

Im sooo clumsy!

Oh and when i got home from our traipse round Ikea and a trip to Tesco i had the fright of my life when the Topshop carrier bag on my bed started moving!! One of my cats had decided to get comfy inside! This is Beau inside his new home...

Mac Colour Craft

When i first saw this collection there was so much i wanted but now its out and iv read some reviews and videos im not so sure. I did get a couple of bits which were delivered today :) The delivery man left them with a neighbour who i dont really get along with, ha, so like a wimp i waited for mummy to come home from work and sent her across.

This is what i got

To be honest im quite dissapointed with the colour pay off from this. It took quite alot to get the swatches. Im not sure how they'd go on top of a primer or maybe wet??

The idea is to tell your followers 10 facts about yourself that are true. I did a random facts post a while ago which you can read here, so im sorry if i cant think of 10 different ones for this.

About 4 years ago i broke my elbow! I was walking across the carpark at work and noticed a patch of ice which i stupidly thought to slide over. I didn't slide far and ended up on my bum, work bag and its contents everywhere!! I got the day of work though but it was spent in the hospital!

I left school at 15 and started work straight away. 6 years later and im still here! I dont exactly enjoy my job (admin work) but iv never known what i want to do with myself, and i dont think i ever will!

I have one sibling, a sister who's 19. We get on really well but when we was little it was a totally different story!

I have very strange emotions, i can cry at the most random tv programmes (deal or no deal can set me off!!) but really sad situations i can handle really well.

I hate salad tomatoes but can quite happily eat tomato soup, ketchup, tinned tomatoes etc..

Ok im going to cheat now and say look at my previous post to make up the extra 5 :)

For the past week iv been in sunny Cyprus :) I went with my boyfriend and had the best time, the weather was seriously hot, the area was really nice and its just been such a nice week. We landed at half 9 last night, not bad to say we was meant to be landing at half 12!! Being delayed for 9 hours was not fun!! No one was impressed! I know these things happen but the whole situtation was not handled well. The same airline (Eurocypria) had cancelled two other flights and another was delayed yesterday so something was going off.
On a good note i didnt spend as much as expected so iv come home with quite a few euro's to change back which i think i will use to treat myself to a few goodies from the new mac collections :)
On a not so good note iv come back with a cold!! Im not happy as quite a few people coming home were colded up or coughing so i hope the dreaded flu isnt doing the rounds!!
Oh and iv just caught up with all blog posts iv missed and noticed iv been tagged a couple of times, i will try and get round to doing them later, thanks girlies :)

Today i braved the rain after work and went to outfit. I bought a couple of plain vests for my holiday and this white one with black flowers on from Topshop

Every brand in outfit had a sale on, i love sale jewellery :) And i got these bits

Id been eyeing up this headband for a while so very happy when i spotted it in the sale. I think it was £4.

I love these bracelets, they were reduced to £6. Theres 7 individual ones.

Angel wings

Iv been after a pair of angel wing earrings for a while and found some last week on ebay. The seller did gold plate or silver plate but i couldnt decide on which colour so bought both

I dont know what it is with my pictures but the colour always looks different??

There was some sellers on ebay selling the small versions but i like in your face jewellery so wanted the bigger 5cm ones. And total bargains, just under £5 for both pairs including delivery!

A few weeks ago i had a bad experience with one of the sales assistants in The Body Shop. I normally find the staff in The Body Shop very friendly and go out of the way to help you so i was a little mad with how rude this assistant was. I sent an email to The Body Shop customer services and they were very apologetic, seemed to take my complaint seriously and asked for my address so they could send me a voucher. I really was not expecting anything like that but i think it shows how they feel about good customer service.

Anyway, little rant over, i went today to spend my voucher :)

And here's what i got

A small passion fruit body butter. Smells yum. Iv recently bought the strawberry body butter, which also smells delicious, so today i got a strawberry shower gel and strawberry body polish. There smaller bottles so definitely coming with me on my jollies, im going to smell very fruity :) When i was at the till the lady was lovely, chatting away, and threw in a little freebie! A sample pot of the cocoa body butter.

Iv been loving The Body Shop lately, and they currently have a sale in stores and on their website!

Things you cannot leave the house without:
My bag and all its usual contents. Whenever i do leave the house i always shove a few tissues in there, dont know why, but they always come in handy for something.

Favourite brand of makeup:
It varies and does depend on the item. I used to love maybelline mascara's but recently discovered Loreal's voluminous. And im loving barry m for the nail varnish and lip products (just seen the new lipglosses!). I love mac's eyeshadows.

Favourite flower:
Lillies :) Although i dont like the mess they leave, nightmare to get off clothes!

Favourite clothing store:
I do love Topshop although dont like how everyone ends up with the same stuff. And lately iv found some nice bits in New Look.

Favourite perfume:
Hugo Boss deep red and Marc Jacobs daisy

Heels or flats:
Id have to say flats. I love heels but for the life of me i just cannot walk in them.

Do you make good grades:
Well i only did GCSE's which i did ok in, apart from science, ha. I did get an A in art which im quite proud of.

Favourite colour:
Purple. I like pink but not in clothes, it just doesnt suit me.

Do you drink energy drinks:
Not really, i think there far to sweet, but a vodka and red bull always goes down a treat :)

Do you drink juice:
Not really, i mainly drink water, apart from my morning cup of tea

Do you like swimming:
Yes. I used to be a right water baby when i was younger and iv recently started going again

Fries no, but i normally eat chunky chips with a fork

For the body i like Body Shop body butters, but i use a Neals Yard one for my face

To be honest im not really bothered. I cant wait to have kids and all that but iv never been in any rush to get married. I might feel differently when im alot older but i wouldnt want nothing big. Im not a total unromantic, my mum and dad got divorced and it probably scared me for life! Ha!

Im quite chilled out but if something bugs me you'd know about it

Yes. Id probably be a total scardy cat if it came to doing it but i do believe in ghosty things

I dont like spiders and the dark but im not petrified of them. I have a weird thing about the child catcher of the film chitty chitty bang bang and mick hucknall!! Haha! I must have had a very weird childhood

Holiday bits :)

Long time no see! This past few weeks have been hectic. A few weeks ago me and the bf booked a holiday to Cyprus for a week, we go on the 4th July, next Saturday! So the past few weekends have been spent buying holiday clothes, whilst trying to save some spending money for my holiday.

Here's a few bits iv bought:

This was from River Island, £21.99

This is more of a coral colour than it appears. Its from Topshop, £14 (i think??)

Iv been after a denim skirt for ages that fits prefectly and this one does :) It was from New Look, £18. It is slightly darker than it looks in the picture.

Love this bandeau top, its from Mango, £12 in the sale. Looks great with some bright coloured beads. I love the coloured stitching

Then onto some bargains from Primark!

It was around £4. And fits so nice, i sometimes have trouble with primark clothes and how they fit. I spotted a top similar to this in River Island

I think this skirt was around £6?? Its a bright purple colour (although it doesnt look it in the picture)

And a few new pairs of shoes :)

Top pair are from Tesco and the bottom pair are from Primark!! Budget shoes!!

The Tesco ones were £15 but i had a £10 clothing voucher so they only cost £5 and the Primark ones were £6.

Sorry about the length of this and all the pictures! I still need to get another bikini but i really want a bandeau one but having really seen a nice one or a nice one that looks nice on. And then its that hard task of figuring out what make up bits to take and how to fit the mountains of clothes i want to take into my suitcase?! Iv never been able to pack light!

Curly wurly??

A while ago when i bought my new hairdryer i got a voucher for a free mini Umberto Giannini product. Iv always tried to get the perfect wavy hair so picked up 'curl friends'

It says on the bottle to spritz evenly through dry hair and leave or style as desired. So tonight I washed my hair like normal and dried it, trying to pull it a little straight as my hair is naturally a little wavy but huge!! When it was dried and sort of straight I sprayed this through. I didnt really notice it doing anything so sprayed a little more and seperated with my fingers and ta da...

Its slightly wavy and quite natural looking. It smells gorgeous and does make my hair nice and shiny. I definitely think you need some natural wave to your hair for it to do anything though. I dont think id actually buy this but as a freebe its ok, id never wear my hair naturally wavy (due to the frizz and size of the bouffant!) but im quite happy to leave the house like this :)

Im off work today but managed to get up when the bf left for work and actually went swimming!! Im not sure how long this 'get fit' streak will last but so far so good.

After my early morning swim i nipped to tesco to get some bits (car mags for the bf and some popcorn, you know the usual, ha) and they had 3 for 2 on all cosmetics so i had to get some!

I got Loreal voluminous mascara and two Rimmel lipsticks. Im not sure if this mascara was supposed to be being discontinued?? Im probably getting confused with something else but if it is i might have to raid tesco's shelves as they had quite a few.

The lipsticks are a volume booster lipstick in 102 Foxy and a moisture renew lipstick in 700 Nude delight

I love these colours. Im not sure how much of a booster Foxy is but there's definite tingling when applied.

Iv just come back from meeting a friend (got to make the most of the sun) and found out that iv won dressjunkie's tidy up time nail competition. Im so excited :) Im off to meet my mum soon to do the weekly shop (ha) so i might treat myself to a lottery ticket, see if the lucks still there!

Yesterday was the bf's birthday so last night we went out to celebrate. We couldnt go crazy as the next day he had a day out with his mates planned so we went with his family for a meal and back home for some drinks, which always gets a little messy with 2 brothers, 1 sister, some in laws, and not forgetting the 2 year old nephew!!

So i took advantage of one of the discount codes many bloggers who attended the Body Shop Bloggers event have posted recently, and I got a few bits

A shimmer cube pallet (06), a strawberry body butter and a Body Shop love your body card

from bottom to top, honeycomb, dark chocolate, marshmallow, choc chip ... yum!

The strawberry body butter smells absolutely delicious, like fresh strawberries, great for the summertime.

The love your body card i'd thought about getting for a while, it costs £5 but gives 10% off all purchases for a year, a £5 birthday gift of your choice, 2 free gifts when you'v collected 4 and 8 stamps and invitations to exclusive events. So im sure this is £5 well spent!

And when i got home today the postman had delivered my Glamour magazine (i got a subscription for christmas) with a great free gift

A mini Benefit Bad Gal Lash mascara! Iv never tried this mascara so am looking forward to trying this out. The brush looks like i'll love it!

Sorry for the absence. This past week me and the bf have been house sitting and trying to make the most of a week off work and the sunshine :) But throughout the week I have picked up a few new bits n bobs that i thought id share with you.

Half way through the week my hairdryer died! So an urgent trip to boots to buy a new one. I didn't have a clue what to go for, all i knew was the past two hairdryers id had were Nicky Clarke ones and they'd both died on me!! My boots didn't have the best choice but i did see this

I loved the packaging and the bright coloured attachments and it was half price, reduced from £60 to £30 so i fell for it and so far so good. It comes with 3 attachments and a brush. Also in the packaging was a gift card for a free Umberto Giannini mini product so back to boots were i picked up Natural Curls Styling Spray

Iv got naturally wavy hair but it never looks nice just left in its wild naturalness!! So hopefully this will turn my mane into gorgeous beach waves (wishful thinking!)

Also last week i turned up at the house with a load of wood and a great big smile hoping my bf would offer to make up my new make up storage i bought from Ikea. (I really didnt think it would come all flat with loads of screws and nails and as soon as i started i had to give up... diy is not for me!) The smile must have worked as i now have some new storage for all my favourite bits

Its not the most exciting looking thing but it serves its purpose. Im undecided wether to paint it or stain it or stick some pretty things on it??

Face of Saturday night, family bbq.

What I used:

Everyday minerals foundation, Barry M bronzer, Gosh eyeliner in golden moss, Maybeline colossal mascara, Johnsons tinted lip balm with Body Shop lip balm on top and some Bare Minerals mineral veil. I tried the Loreal telescopic explosion mascara but I couldnt get on with it at all! I really wanted to love this mascara so i dont know if im doing something wrong?!

On Saturday the weather was really sunny and very warm so i got chance to wear a top i bought a few months ago from Topshop but never had chance to wear

Also the gladiator sandals were out showing my freshly painted toe nails in the famous Barry M mint green! I love this colour!!

I saw this on Superficial Girls blog and just had to try it myself. There was a programme on channel 4 a while ago called Vanity Lair were they said symmetrical faces are the most scientifically attractive. This has always had me thinking as i think imperfections are just as attractive, there what makes us us.

So i went on the website http://www.anaface.com/ and submitted my picture.

My results were 8.47 out of 10. It said my face has good horizontal symmetry and the ratio of mouth to nose width is nearly ideal BUT my nose is too long for my ears and too wide for my face and my face is too narrow / long.

Everything it picked up on i am aware of anyway. I have got a long face and iv always thought my nose is a little big for my face. Not too sure about it being too long for my ears though??

I had a disastrous day yesterday. I was really looking forward to a day of shopping, even if it was mainly to get the boyfriend some birthday presents. It was raining none stop so i really wasnt in the mood and i ended up with not much at all. I did get a few bits from Primark!! I got a cream coloured cardigan and this bag:

It was only £6 so it cheered me up abit.

Later on i went with my mum to do the food shop (oh the joys!) but i saw this on offer

Im a sucker for lip balms, i have loads!! And it was only a £1. Its more like a gloss though, like a clear gel.

What i really wanted to get for myself was a few new mascara's to try out but I totally forgot to go in Superdrug (!!) so thats my task for this weekend.

Iv not done a post in ages! This time of year is always an expensive time so iv had to cut back with my spending these past few weeks but im back! Tomorrow im off work and im going shopping!! Im rather excited as iv not stepped foot in a shop for a few weeks now! (Tell a little lie, I popped into Superdrug last night to buy a present, but treated myself a little whilst in there!) Im supposed to be going shopping for some birthday presents for the boyfriend (not got a clue what to get him!) but im sure i'll manage to find myself some goodies :) Anyway enough of the ramble...

Loving:

Barry M. Theres been alot of talk of Bazza lately with the bloggers event coming up and new products. My little treat from Superdrug was the Barry M natural dazzle compact. As soon as I got home I was swiping this on my face and I loved it. Iv had bad experiences in the past with bronzer (!!) but so far so good

My shopping day tomorrow, reallt rather excited!

My skin. Its no where near clear but i think its looking alot better than it has. Iv been taking tablets for my rosacea again for the past month (ish) so hopefully if I stick with it i'll have nice skin in no time (fingers and toes crossed)

Not loving so much:

Holiday hunting. Me and the boyfriend were planning a few days away here in the uk but with the cold wet days im more and more tempted to go abroad for a holiday! So start the trawling through loads of travel websites to find a holiday we can agree on

Paleness. On the rare occasion that the sun shows its face and its time to reach for the summer clothes iv got skin on show that could rival casper!! So iv found some dove summer body at the back of the cupboard which is now being slapped on daily

Do you have any nicknames?

My friends call me Charlotte, Charl or Char. My mum has a few strange nicknames she occasionally calls me. And the boyfriend probably calls me anything but Charlotte

Apart from the obvious make up / beauty hobby, what other hobbies do you have?

I haven't really got hobbies. When I was little I did alot of dance classes and shows and went swimming alot but that was years ago now. Iv recently started doing abit of exercise, like aerobics and swimming, but how long that will last I don't know!

What do you do?

Im just an administrative assistant for a packaging company. Its very boring.

What would you like to do?

Im not entirely sure. Theres loads of jobs I read about in magazines, or hear about on the tele or in a film and think 'ooh, that'd be good' but its just on a whim I think. I actually like admin work (believe it or not) and have always wanted to do this but in a school/college or a hospital. I don't know why.

Tell us something embarrassing, but that you love doing?

Erm, I really don't know. There's probably something but I either don't find it embarrassing or im having a mental blockage! Like most people who's post iv read I say alot of silly things but I dont find this really embarrassing, there funny and im the first person to laugh at myself! I really should think before I speak sometimes.

Tell us a little something that we don't already know about you.

I have 8 piercings (did have 9!) and 1 tattoo. Tattoos are addictive (as weird as it sounds) and im planning on having another but not sure what and where.

What achievement are you most proud of?

Theres not one thing that really sticks out to me. When I was a few years younger I was proud of myself for passing my driving test first time and getting myself a job after school. Iv been through alot in my life and not had the best times at points in my life but I suppose im proud of how iv dealt with things and the person its made me.

What do you most like about yourself?

I think im a nice person (without sounding big headed!) Im kind and friends have said im the type of person who'd do anything for anyone, which is nice.

What would you change about yourself if you could?

The first thing I think of when asked this is my skin! I have rosacea and its horrible!! I also get the odd spot so I certainly have not been blessed with good skin.

If you could have anything in the world (that doesn't cost any money), what would you want?

A nice long and happy life. Id love to see my grandma again aswell and give her a little cuddle, I miss her alot. And while im at it id love clear skin (shallow I know!)

Normally on a day off work I go shopping (not good for the purse!) but I haven't really got the money at the moment to be spending on things I dont need (I have finally realised want and need are two different words!)

After looking at videos on you tube I saw a great tutorial from pixiwoo using a pallet from Sleek. I bought two of their pallets the other day so thought i'd have a play around

I wasnt sure wether to do this post as I have major issues with lighting at my house so the photos don't really give a very good impression of the colours but here it is anyway.

A few random facts!

I now have 5 followers (wow, thanks guys :) ) so thought i'd do a post of random facts all about me! Ha!

My name is Charlotte (hello!). (Not really a fact but thought i'd introduce myself as my blog name is probably confusing). Middle names Beth.

One of my favourite foods is cheese! I could easily have this grated on everything I eat! I suffer from migraines though so not the best food to be eating in large consumption!

I love going on holidays, my favourite part is probably being at the airport!?! I don't know why when you have such a good time on holiday. I think its the excitement I love!

I drive a peugout 106 quiksilver. It took me ages to find the right one but im very happy with it.

My favourite disney film is Alice in Wonderland.

I am obsessed with smells! I smell all beauty products before I use them (make up included) and occasionally smell the air when I walk past someone to smell their perfume or aftershave. (This sounds really weird now iv wrote it down but I can assure you im not that weird!)

I used to suffer from ocd. Im not sure how or why it started but im pretty sure it had something to do with the bad relationship I was in at the time. Iv overcome this now. Apart from a few little things but we all have our little quirks.

I love animals. I have a rabbit, a guinea pig and 2 cats. I would love a chihuahua and a tortoise. One of my biggest hates is animal cruelty!

I have really bad circulation which results in my hands and feet always being cold.

I can use my feet like hands. I use my big toe to switch plugs at the bottom of the wall on and occasionally pick things up with my feet. This is actually very weird!

I have a (verging on unhealthy) obsession with crappy tv programmes like the hills, laguna beach, girls of the playboy mansion, newlyweds, meet the barkers, cribs...

I love food! Eating it, baking it, cooking it.

Tea tree oil from The Body Shop

At the weekend I went into The Body Shop to buy a new lip balm but whilst in there I had a look at the skincare products. As I suffer from rosacea i'm always trying out new skincare products and routines which will help my skin. When I was at school I used to suffer from typical teenage spots and used to use a tea tree gel from Superdrug which really helped clear spots up, so I thought id give this a go:

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Foaming Face Wash. It says "instantly lathers up, unclogging pores as it washes away make-up and oil. With added peppermint oil to refresh and cool skin. A cleansing gel that lathers to gently cleanse, lift impurities and make-up while helping to control shine and blemishes". It does come out as a foam and really leaves your skin feeling refreshed.

Im so impressed with this that i'v just placed an order for the normal tea tree oil face wash and skin toner.

I also bought one of there eyeshadows in the colour taupe. Theres currently an offer on Body Shop skin care and make up products (save £5 when you buy 3 items) so I thought i'd add a third item to my order (like it takes much persuading!!)

As you can see im practising with my photo's! Technology and me don't mix!!

On my face: lily lolo mineral foundation in blondie, everyday minerals foundation in fairly light neutral (I don't think blondie is the right shade for me so had to use abit of this), lily lolo concealer in blush away, lily lolo blusher in juicy peach

Eyes: a couple of colours from the beautyuk pallet (shown in a previous blog), rimmel soft kohl eyeliner, maybelline colossal mascara

(Not the best close up of the eyes but you get the idea :) )

Lips: a natural collection lipgloss iv had for ages, its not the best lipgloss - very gritty and not long lasting, but I love the look of it on my lips

Here's what I bought today

The oui oui oui lip butter from The Body Shop. Iv got a coconut lip butter from The Body Shop which I absolutely love, its slightly gritty but gives lips a gorgeous sheen and tastes gorgeous. As soon as I got in the car to come home I tried this out and its even better than the coconut one I have. Even the boyfriend commented on how nice my lips looked!!

A concealer by gosh. Iv heard good things about this so thought i'd try it out.

I just had to get some of the girls aloud lashes! The Superdrug in Nottingham had loads in, all 5 of them!! (Iv heard of some with none left!) I had to really stop myself getting all 5 but I talked myself into the fact that I probably wouldn't use them so I got Kimberley's, which I think looked the most natural out of the 5.

The 2 rings from Primark. I couldn't decide on which colour but at £2 each I thought I'd get both! I love abit of ring bling :)

I also bought a face wash from The Body Shop

Iv been using a simple face wash but I don't think it does wonders for my skin so I'm trying out some new ones. Iv not long had a shower and used this and it certainly leaves you feeling refreshed. It contains peppermint oil which you can definitely tell! After a few uses i'll do a review.

I haven't done one of these yet so thought I would.

Shampoo: Tigi S Factor Colour Savvy. A little goes a long way.

Conditioner: Tigi S Factor Colour Savvy. Amazing!! Again you need the littlest bit, great value.
Hair mask: Don't really need one at the moment.

Shower gel: Soap and Glory some like it hot body softening thermal scrub (its an exfoliator so I should be silky smooth)

Body moisturiser: Soap and Glory the righteous butter

Exfoliater: The Soap and Glory shower gel is an exfoliator but occasionally use Soap and Glory flake away body scrub (see abit of a trend here in the shower!!)

Fake tan: Im pasty at the minute!! But I actually thought to myself today that I ought to get the fake bake out

Face cleanser: I have been using Simple moisturising facial wash but Iv just bought The Body Shop tea tree oil foaming facial wash to try

Face mask: None

Special treatments: Sudocrem for the spots!!

Make up primer: Bare minerals skin revver upper

Foundation: Iv been trying out a few of the mineral ones lately, bare minerals, everyday minerals and lily lolo

Concealer: Everyday minerals mint colour corrector and a gosh liquid one

Blusher: Maybelline mineral blush in topaz rose and everyday minerals email me

Bronzer: I haven't been using one lately but im sure now the suns showing itself I soon will be

Highlighter: I don't really use one

Eyeshadow base: Urban Decay primer potion

Eyeshadows: At the minute iv been experimenting with my cheap pallet from Superdrug

Eyeliner: Rimmel soft khol

Mascara: Maybelline colossal

Lipstick: Gosh darling (surprise surprise) and a coconut lip butter from The Body Shop (which is a perfect nude) so of course i have now bought the oui oui oui

Lipgloss: Benefit her glossiness

Nail colour: An orange on my toes but nothing on my fingers

Happy Easter! I think iv managed to eat nearly 3 eggs over this weekend (!!) so did abit of shopping today to burn off some calories :)

I got a few new tops, perfect for the summer and these bits...

I love these earrings from River Island (the picture doesnt show them well)

Also I jumped on the bandwagon with the beautyuk pallets from superdrug but I saw this one and had to have it. They are really pigmented and for £3 an absolute bargain!! Cant wait to play about with them :) Seriously considering picking up the bright colours pallet, well for that price it'd be rude not to!

And lastly some batiste dry shampoo. When I last went to the hairdressers she told me to try and not wash my hair everyday. Im obsessed with washing my hair, I can't stand the feel of it when its not washed so the only way this can be bareable is to dry shampoo it inbetween washes.

Mac sugarsweet order

Whilst typing my previous post a man knocked at the door with a package for me, it was my mini mac order! I ordered this yesterday so wasn't expecting it until next week sometime. Im such an impatient person so im very happy now :)

When I said mini I meant mini, I only ordered two things! April's quite a poor month for me :( My car tax has to be paid and its my m.o.t! (Its months like this when I wish I didn't drive).

Enough rambling, onto my products.

I was feeling sensible yesterday and bought a couple of bits I knew would suit me and I could easily wear. I got a shadestick in cakeshop and an eyeshadow in club. Im really pleased, the colours are great for me, and club looks really good on top of cakeshop! I cant wait to try them out.

Bright nails

I dont necessarily wear the colours as a full nail, my sisters a beautician and makes my nails look really pretty by just painting the tips a nice bright colour!

Me and my rosacea...

So about 3 years ago I was diagnosed with rosacea on my face :( It appeared during winter and at first I had no idea what it was. I thought it was bad acne after suffering with my skin throughout school but when it gradually got worse I went to the doctor. Since being diagnosed I have lost count of the creams and tablets iv been given. Most creams and lotions made it worse! They may work for some people but they really irritated my skin. I finally found some antibiotics that work for me but its a very long process. For personal reasons I had to stop taking them but they were working so as soon as I can I will be taking them again.

So while im not taking them iv been trying different things to see what helps and what makes my rosacea worse. I will do posts on these things soon. Any recommendations though are very welcome :)

The exact causes of rosacea are unknown but there are certain things which have been linked to rosacea and making it worse: cold weather, sunlight, hot drinks, stress, alcohol and certain foods.
The symptoms of rosacea are flushing and constant redness, spots, palpules and pustules, visible blood cells, dryness, burning or stinging sensation and sometimes thickened skin.

There are various websites for information on rosacea. I found the nhs website very clear and helpful www.nhs.uk/conditions/rosacea There are loads more though.

A nosey inside my bag!

I really like watching the "whats in my bag" blogs on you tube but im not brave enough to be on there so here's mine on my blog.

So first here's my bag I used today:

It was only £35 (i think??) from topshop, bargain! :)

So we have my glasses case (I wear them for driving and watching tele), a new price list and a tigi product guide from my hairdressers, my diary (not really much in it), a few receipts (one from tesco and one from superdrug, my phone (lost without it!), purse, umbrella (because our weather is sooo unpredictable), my ipod and ipod sock, empty chewing gum wrapper (I should really chuck rubbish away), a brush, mirror, 3 lipbalms (a body shop one, johnsons one, and a nivea one), a lighter (unfortunately I do have the occasional cigarette :( ), some hair bobbles, some plasters (just in case), and my car and house keys.

I carry alot of stuff about with me!!

From left to right we have Amor Amor, Kylie Minogue's Darling, Christina Aguilera (2 bottles), Kylie Minogue's Sweet darling, Ghost, DKNY, Armani City Glam, Britney Spears Believe, Hugo Boss Pure purple, Versace Red Jean's, Ghost Cherish, Britney Spears Fantasy, Clinique Happy, Hugo Boss Deep Red (2 bottles, 1 boxed!), Celine Dion (!), and Lacoste Touch of Pink.

Quite a few celebrity ones there!!

I tend to wear certain ones in the day and others at night. My favourite night times ones are Ghost, Amor Amor and Hugo Boss Deep Red. My favourite day time ones are Kylie Minogue Darling, both Britney ones, Lacoste Touch of Pink and Hugo Boss Pure Purple. I'm not too keen on Armani City Glam and Kylie's Sweet Darling. On other people they seem to be nice but for there not really me. The Celine Dion perfume was a gift from my boss of her holiday. I was very unsure when I openend my present but I actually really like it, its hard to describe, its just a really nice smell and Iv had a few compliments when Iv wore it!

Nothing really exciting there but just thought Id show you. Id love to see everyone else's.

Enchanting eyes??

For a long time I have been abit concerned about lines and wrinkles. Im only 21 but there is definitely a few faint lines around my eye area so decided that tackling the problem now will hopefully minimise these and prevent anymore (well for a good few years!).

So I started looking.

I ended up buying Lush's Enchanted Eye Cream:

It was £9.30 for a 45g bottle.

There were loads of good reviews for this on the internet plus it says 'gentle, soothing cream to minimise fine lines around the eyes', exactly what I was after.

I got this just over a month ago and have used it everyday since, morning and night, and I can't see any difference at all! I even stopped using it for a few days to see if I noticed the lines (and sometimes eye bags!) any more than normal but I didn't.

It does leave your eye area very soft which could be a good base for concealer but it's not really what I bought it for. I had high hope's for this after reading the reviews and I was very disappointed :(

Came across this website and all the beauty/hair blogs a few weeks ago (I have the most boring job so spend hours trawling the internet) and found myself keep coming back to read all the latest tips and recommendations, so decided to set up an account. Its always good to here about products before you go out and buy them (especially the expensive stuff!!) so thankyou girlies (and boys) for such detailed and fun to read blogs :)
